Slow Duplication , Fast from SLP

Hi All

We have a HP Ux master server 11.23 IA 64 netbackup version 6.5.4.. Initially we take backup on VTL and then duplicate  the data from VTL to tape , Even after selecting alternate read server as media server where
both VTL and Tape library are connected it takes long time to duplicte getting around 6MB of speed , and for backup we get as good as 35 MB of speed. I tried the same thing through SLP and it i got better speed
I want to know couple of things


1) Is there any buffer parameter that can be set to improve speed through Vault

and

2) Have any one experienced issue in SLP in 6.5.5 as we are going to upgrade to 6.5.5 in next couple of days

Amit - what kind of VTL? Do you have a media server on the VTL so the duplication runs via fiber from VTL to tape?

We have the same sort of setup, and we are driving the tapes as fast as they can go using SLP.

THis is EMC EDL 3000 with de-duplication...we duplicate it to HP -EML Tape library and yes both of them are using same media server and duplication is going through Fiber
