The restore does not start

Hello,

I'm trying to make a restore of a file from 6 month earlier, I mounted the tapes needed but the system status remain on "Media ID xxxxxxx is needed for the restore".

I started again the restore procedure but same problem.

I tried to restore a file from the backup of this week-end and everything worked fine...

Any idea ??

Thanks

Did you run an inventory after you loaded the media?

yep, I can see them in the volume pool...

They will be in a volume pool whether or not they are in the robot.  Is a slot number assigned to the media?  Is it the right robot or media server if you have more than 1?

Slots 9 and 10

We have only one robot and only one backup server.

It is really strange because it does not give me an error message or something. It just waiting for the tapes, but i have put the tapes.

It sounds like something has changed in the last 6 months...?

Hopefully someone else knows what it could be, I bet it's simple whatever it is!

Check the density type you have for this media. It should match to your drive and storage unit density. Also, check if there is max number of mounts defined for this tape and if it has reached to that limit.

on the gui go to Device Monitor and see if there is a third window at the bottom that shows your restore request.

if it is there

right click and choose "resumbit request"
