Yes...use the same across the SSO

Where to get the VERITAS NetBackup Tape Device Installer and information about which drivers are contained within the Installer executable.

I've found that it depends on what kind of hardware you're using. Most of the time the Veritas drivers are fine, but some manufacturers prefer you use their drivers. We use Dell PV136T and use Veritas and Dell drivers. The drives go down more often with Veritas than with Dell drivers, but we're currently testing with NB60 and it looks like Veritas are more stable than Dell.

We have had good luck with HP's drivers with NBU6.0.
I have bounced back and forth between HP and Veritas and they don't seem much different. (We only have LTO1 drives)

One thing to make sure of, is to disable TUR requests via this KB if you are using Windows Server 2003.

I tried using the Veritas drivers for my HP LTO3 drives (mounted in a SAN-connected StorageTek SL500 library), and they wouldn't work. Veritas couldn't see the drives any more, even after installing them from scratch. Going back to the HP drivers they popped right back up.

I've had the same problem as Chuck. SL500 san attached library with 4x LTO-3 drives, the Veritas drivers do not install successfully on Windows 2003, I get the message "unable to initialise driver" in Device manager.

I've reverted to HP drivers, but still have problems with drives not ejecting tapes at the end of successful backups, and consequently the drives go to a Down condition. I've got to eject the tapes manually and bring the drives back up
