Warning about libonline_util.so posted in problem log

Dear all,

I am receiving the following warning in the NetBackup problem log:

Wed Oct 07 01:43:54 BST 2009 <master Server> <client> Warning 0 General expected  start message from <client>; read: ERR - NetBackup libonline_util library not installed: /usr/openv/lib/libonline_util.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I have read support doc 273357.  The policy type is set to Standard and the client being backed up is a RHEL 5.2 server running Oracle 11.

I checked the logs for the backups of all of my unix servers, and the same entry is being made for all of them.

The Master Server is running NetBackup 6.0 MP7 on RHEL 4

Any ideas what is casuing this error?

Thanks,

Richard.

I think libonline_util is a part of the Snapshot client option. It may be a "false positive"

Try to install the Snapshot client to see if the message goes away.

I think you might be on the right lines there.  The backup policy is set to use the standard client and the standard client is installed on the server being backed up.  However, when I checked the licence keys installed, the licence key for the Advanced Client is entered, but the standard one is not.

I'll enter the standard licence key and re-run the backup job to see if it goes away.

Many thanks.
