Windows 2003 x64 edition, downloaded and installed the x64 version of the 5.1 client (up to MP4)
the windows servers are reporting int he netbackup console as UNIX clients tho......
im not sure if this is an x64 issue, or wether its something to do with the fact that the 32bit client was previously installed??

any ideas

I am sure backup for this client are working fine.....

when you define client to backup in policy configuration, are you sure you selected right OS?

When you added the client to the policy....
did you just let it pick what os and accepted whatever it showed, or did you verify and change it to the correct os?

I believe the OS is reported as Unix in Host Properties > clients. Here the client details are acquired through a query to the hostname. it is possible that you have a ip conflict...check the hosts file of the master server also.

Just happened to me on 6.0mp7.  A windows client started showing up as Linux RedHat.  Luckily these were test servers.  Oddly though there were no backup errors!
