Master Server is AIX and NBU Is 7.1.0.4

Media server is AIX and  NBU is 7.1.0.1

Client is AIX and NBU is 6.5

Backup is failing with error code 21.

Backup is going through Media Server Only Through backup NIC  and client also have backup ip.

Is there a need to add client backup name --- backup ip  in /etc/hosts file of client . In client host File only client production ip is added with production name

have you tried below....

Host Properties > Master server > server > Client Attributes > client > Connect Options
 
  BPCD connect back = Random port
  Ports = Non-reserved ports
  Daemon connection port = Daemon port only

Hello,

Test bpcd connection between master, media servers and the client. Make sure ports 13724 and 1556 are open bidirectional to master, media servers and the client. Use bptestbpcd to do this: TECH42657

DNS is important, so make sure you have correct DNS resolution between client, media, master as well.
