An LSU on the data domain storage system will correspond to a disk pool on one of the NBU media servers.

What does it mean?

Logical Storage Unit (LSU) in DD is a Storage LUN that you have configure in DD. This storage LUN is accessed by the media server via OST plugin and the LUN is configured as a disk pool.

Hence a LSU in DD system is equivalent to Disk Pool in NetBackup.

Also please refer the Whitepaper which yogesh has posted for complete understanding.

@Rizwan:

We have MSDP in our environment.

when my backup runs,it goes from client to media server.

AT media server data gets deduplicated and is send to the storage LUN.

Is it true?
