Hi

we have windows media server.

OS - windows 2008, SP 2

NBU - VERSION NetBackup 6.5.3.1.

Drives are in ACS mode, on checking we found that drives are fine at H/W level , they are visible at OS level. we tried bouncing NBU , Libattach services.

nothing has worked.

At last in event logs we found LIBATTACH relatted errors . which say:

 

LibAttach:

07-08-11 12:23:41 SSI[0] (10452):

[csi_rconnect.c:97] ONC RPC: csi_rconnect() (10452): status:STATUS_NI_FAILURE; failed: connect()

Error 10060 connecting to remote host 135.188.26.36:30031;

 

and

 

LibAttach:

07-08-11 12:24:49 SSI[0] (10452):

[csi_rpccall.c:429] ONC RPC: csi_rpccall() (10452): status:STATUS_NI_FAILURE; failed: csi_rconnect()

Failed connecting to remote host;

 

 

but ip 135.188.26.36 does not belong to acsls server, media server and not of master server even.

please help , its going over head

Check all NBU configuration to find source of incorrect IP address:

Check contents of: <install-path>\veritas\volmgr\vm.conf

tpconfig -l

Check LibAttach configuration:

Start -> All Programs -> Oracle (or Sun/STK) -> LibAttach Configurator

check 'Server' tab, then  'Configuration' -> Test.

Check the robotic arm for any stuck tape and is functioning properly, also the media server shows as ACTIVE FOR TAPE AND DISK.

when i go to this path

it only provides me option of APPLY , REVERT, option TEST is garded out( not availabel)

 

and dont have any idea about the ip 135.188.26.36, please suggest.

Hi

thanx all for your value able help.

this issue has resolved.

there was some issue with the configuration of libattach.  Somebody has changed configurations of libattach with out any information.

that is corrected and configurator test was done which was successfull .

Atlast backups again running fine.

Something seems to have changed in LibAttach config. As lon as Configuration -> Test is failing, NBU will also fail. 

Please post screenshot of your Libattach Configurator screen.

Also check the drop-down next to 'Local Address'.

My suspision was right about the problem being in LibAttach config!
