Hi All,
I have very simple question.
For backup the two server's OS through network which license key we should use?
Of course one of them would be master server. I think Additional client license is enough.
What is the Enterprice license?
Now we didn't implement the netbackup soft to the mentioned machines.
In future may be required to use the flash backup ,if exist many small files.
Kindly can you provide me list of required licenses for our situations.
BR,
Turgun

This is for NetBackup v7.6:
Option 1)
Traditional licensing model - official name "NetBackup Standard Licensing Model":
FYI - there are two 'server' licences - one called "NetBackup Server" and another called "NetBackup Enterprise Server".
If you never use an Enterprise Client (i.e. FlashBackup) then you could get away with "NetBackup Server" license... however if you will ever want to use FlashBackup then you will need at least one NetBackup Enterprise Client license AND a NetBackup Enterprise Server license.
1 x NetBackup Server (or 1 x NetBackup Entreprise Server) (explained above) (for master/media server) (does not need a 'Client' license)
1 x NetBackup Client (for each backup client not using FlashBackup)
...or:
1 x NetBackup Enterprise Client (to be able to use FlashBackup) (does not also need plain 'Client') (but does need master server to be "NetBackup Entreprise Server").
The "NetBackup Enterprise Server" license includes the use of any number standlone tape drives. However, if you want to use a tape library, and one or more tape drives within the tape library - then you will need additional licenses.
If you want to backup to advanced disk or de-duplication disk then additional licences are required with this model.
FYI all NetBackup Server, NetBackup Enterprose Server, and NetBackup Enterprise Client licenses are also 'tiered' (costed) to the number of populated physical CPU sockets within the server (not the number of cores).
.
Option 2)
Capacity licensing model - official name "NetBackup Platform Base Licensing Model":
'n' TB of data to be protected of "NetBackup Platform Base – Complete Edition, Per 1 Front End TB"
