nss compressed volumes

NBU 6.5 allows you to backup your NSS volumes using the client for Novell OES natively.  You no longer have to back them up using a Netware server pointing to the NSS targets.  My NSS volumes are compressed and the problem I have is the Netbackup client is uncompressing the data before sending it to the master server.  Naturally, I don't have the diskspace available to keep doing this.  Is there some way to keep it from uncompressing the files while it backs them up?

We just spent about a month on this with Symantec.  They are telling us it's a "feature" and working as designed.

Apparently nobody at Novell nor Symantec bothered to test this.  You'll have to submit an enhancement request and wait 900 years for Symantec to fix it or do anything about it.
