I have 1 cluster  master server in our environment and around 6 media servers. We have 2 TLD libraries with 6 drives each.I want to share  these 6 drives from each library to all the 6 media servers.

What steps needed to be taken for this?

Simple.

Make sure the drives are zoned to each media server, and the os can see the devices.

Ensure the media servers each have an SSO licence

Configure the drives with the wizard normally.   You can do all at once, or onr at a time.

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH125956

NBU will automatically share the drives.

Make sure that when you select any media server to scan in the device wizard , you MUST also select the robot control host, at the same time, even if you only want to configure the drives on one server.  Or to put it another way - on te screen in the device wizard where you put a tick by the name of the servers, ALWAYS put a tick by the roobot control host, and then after that, select the media servers you want to scan.  If you do not do this, the drives on the media server will be added as 'stand alone' and will show in AVR mode.

First step is to ensure that all tape drives and Media Servers are connected to a SAN switch and that all tape drives are zoned to all media servers.

Next step is to ensure that you have a license for 12 x Share Storage Option.

Next step: Read through Section 4 - Shared Storage Option in the SSO manual .
The first 2 steps that I have referred to above are also covered in this section.

Topics in this section:

■ Chapter 15. Introducing the Shared Storage Option
■ Chapter 16. Licensing the Shared Storage Option
■ Chapter 17. Configuring the Shared Storage Option
■ Chapter 18. Using the Shared Storage Option
■ Chapter 19. Troubleshooting the Shared Storage Option

PLEASE read through these chapters before asking any other questions.
