Hello,
I suppose that NetBackup has a command/way how to find out if a certain VM can be backed up via SAN. For example, something like:
bpVMxxx -VM <VM1>
and output could be:
VM display name: VM1
VM datastore: PROD_A
VM Backup Host <host1> Disk: Disk 32
VM Backup Host <host2> Disk: NO DISK
Is not here some command like that? - For easier troubleshooting of VMware backup transport modes, especially when NBU admin is not also SAN admin.
NBU 7.7/VMware Backup Host on Windows

It would require a native Windows tool to check for WWIDs and to my knowledge (I'm not a fan of Windows so correct me if I'm wrong) there is none. For example EMC has provided this "inquiry utility" that comes in handy.
Linux has udevadm that would fit the bill.
