Recommended method:

Upgrade existing 32-bit master to 6.5.

Use procedure in this TN to migrate to new hardware: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH77448
(Using catalog backup and recovery to transfer NetBackup catalogs between UNIX or Linux master servers as part of a hardware refresh)

Please note that the hostname and IP must stay the same.

i have taken a full catalog backup of the existing system, and i have built the new system RHEL 5.4 and successfully recovered the images (catalog) from the tape.

but i am not seeing any history when i am trying to do any restore. for example if i want to restore last month's backup. from backup and restore check the list of backups, it is empty. for all the clients.

also when i click on clients on the java consol it hangs.
