The wizard will give you option to create a storage unit if it is not yet created for this robotic device, you can either create it or uncheck the tickbox and create it manually.

I guess you need to talk to/ask your tape library vendor/documentation and make it visible to OS?

Nothing can be done from our end?I mean cant i check anything regarding this?

Depending where your end is. NBU definitely will not help you to diagnose issues with physical or logical attachment, it works on top of the OS layer.

You can try following steps.
NBU will detect the device only if its detected by the OS.

If you use the same server and drives with the same serial numbers, the wizard will update SCSI IDs and up the drives if they are correctly functioning. If drives were replaced then it may be better to delete the existing configuration.

Wont it overwrite?
09-17-2012 10:18 AM
It depends, as I said if drives are the same but SCSI IDs are different (reboot, SAN reconfiguration) then if will just update existing configuration and up the drives.
If your drives are not functioning you have nothing to loose in reality.
