Hello Everyone,
I was just curious as to whether anyone knows how to patch the included Tomcat web server included with some of the various Symantec Products including OpsCenter on Windows x86/64...??
On top of backups, I do Nessus and OpenVAS scanning on our network and the versions of Tomcat supplied are seemingly absolutely plagued with vulnerabilities and other issues.
As it isn't a vanilla install, its not like I can just patch up or install the newest version over-top... I don't want to take a chance and update and get into a situation like with PHP where functions break or are deprecated, etc....
Any help or pointers would be appreciated...
Cheers,
Matt

Think I might have gotten it.. Snapshotted the OpsCenter VM in vSphere....
Got the newest Tomcat/Apache 6 Stable.. (6.0.32)
Unzipped and replaced the...
c:\program files\Symantec\OpsCenter\Webserver\bin
c:\program files\Symantec\OpsCenter\Webserver\lib
c:\program files\Symantec\OpsCenter\Webserver\webapps\ROOT
with the files from 6.0.32 leaving the config files from
c:\program files\Symantec\OpsCenter\conf intact at their default install from OpsCenter as being in the same version I figured the functionality would be the same and I didn't want to risk overwriting critical Symantec modified settings or variables (port definitions, etc)...
Seems to be running... Webserver/service starts fine.. OpsCenter is still pulling data from the Master NB 7.0.1 server...
Going to monitor the situation for awhile before I can officially confirm...
Cheers,
Matt.
