Storage Foundation MP2 overwrites soft link to /opt?

I'm trying to apply MP2 for Storage Foundation, sparc Solaris 10, on which /opt is a soft link to somewhere else.

When MP2 starts applying the patches, the soft link to /opt is destroyed and recreated as an empty directory, and the patches are copied into this emply directory.

MP1 did not care that /opt was linked.

Is there a workaround for this?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that my Storage Foundation version is 4.1, patched with MP1.
