bad incore messages

I noticed the following messages during a recent reboot and these messages are currently viewable in /var/adm/messages.

WARNING: msgcnt 1 vxfs: mesg 017: vx_inactive_tran - /apps file system inode 943531 marked bad incore

the above message was repeated multiple, multiple times followed by messages like this:

vxfs: vxfs msgcnt 1 offset 0x00000010 0 0 0 0
Feb 10 09:20:22 servername vxfs: vxfs msgcnt 3 offset 0x00000000 0 0 0 0
Feb 10 09:20:22 servername vxfs: vxfs msgcnt 4 offset 0x00000000 0 0 0 0

=================================================
The system is a V480 running Solaris 9 and is at patch level 118558-05. It is also using Veritas Volume Manager 3.5. The fstyp command returns the filesystem is using vxfs version 5. After the server came back online after the reboot, all filesystems were mounted. I shutdown the apps on the server, unmounted /apps and ran a fsck which came back clean, however, I also spotted this on reboot and in the /var/adm/messages:

WARNING: Please umount(1M) / and run fsck(1M)

I have a cd in the system that I can boot off of to get into single user mode to fsck the root filesystem, but I wanted to know if there is anything else I should look at in regards to this problem before attempting to fsck the entire drive as I want to avoid any corruption if at all possible. I should also mention that in addition to the Daylight Saving Time patch I plan on installing, we have a script that identifies VxVM patches. The script is from Sun Microsystems and it identified the following patches that it downloaded and I will need to install:
112392-08
113203-04
113207-12
113211-05
113595-06

If any further information is requested, please respond with the syntax please as I am pretty much a novice in VxVM.
Thanks for any help.

I think you need to upgrade to Storage foundation 4.1 MP1.

VERITAS File System reports inodes 'marked bad incore' or 'marked bad ondisk' in the /var/adm/messages file.
