Hi All,

I have around 20 solaris boxes which has either Veritas SF 4.1  or  4.1 MP2 installed they are in production environment.Currently Veritas SF is used only for Veritas volume manager. Some servers has SAN disk mapped.

I had to upgrade the SF 4.x to SF 5.0.

Kindly let me know the procedure for upgrade.

Hi, the easiest way is to take a look at the release notes of 5.0 and 5.0MP1. There is a good description for the upgrade. Additionally, look at the point patches if you should install some. There are several similar question at this board, just take a look at these answers: e.g. https://forums.symantec.com/syment/board/message?board.id=94&thread.id=389 Regards Björn

Hi

Just some suggestions and comments:  keep a copy of your volboot file and, just run the installer script and select uninstall. Because of private region of VxVM disks, you dont have to worry to upgrade them (SF 5.0 is backward compatible with VxVM 4.0 diskgroups and disks)

Regards and good luck
