One of our disks has a bad sector, CHKDSK reports it as 4k.
Full backups BSOD the MS 2003 SBS server which I belive is due to the bad sector.
I attempted to backup using the "Ignore Bad Sectors" and "Verify backup" check boxes over a weekend and it backed up successfully. (will not backup during a week day with "Ignore bad sectors" selected, it just blue screens)
When I restored the image to an identical server with new drives, the 4k of bad sectors still shows. I attempted to fix with CHKDSK /f and /r but still no joy.
Is it not possible to create a backup without the bad sectors?

since BESR does a block level backup of the drive I suppose NO.
