BESR 2010 Management Solution - creating policy to backup a single drive or partition only

BESR 2010 - Desktop & Management Solution - is it possible to create a policy that only backups up either a single drive or partition on a PC with multiple drives?

I have a small test group of 15PC's reporting back to the MSolution - but my client only wants the C drive on one PC to be backed up, and the other 14 to backed up in their entirety

Yes you can  !

You have to create two separate policys: One where only drive c is the traget and one where you back up all drives. The next step would be to assign the first (c only) policy only to the one client and the second (all drives) policy to all the other clients.

Hi KAC,

These policies you will create using the web Altiris Console 7.0, at Manage -> Policies -> Backup and Recovery ->  Backup Policies and choose the drive definition for your new backup policy.


The next step after you configure the other backup policy fields and Save Changes, is choose wich computers will apply this backup policy and you will use the Apply field and define rules for include/exclude computers:
