Hello All,
We have a windows 7 workstation which is being backed up by SSR and all backups are being encrypted.
Due to the length and the complexity of the encryption passphrase we had some difficulties when trying to restore/recover data from the recovery environment.
Is it possible to change the current passphrase ? If the answer is yes will it have any negative impact on the existing backups ? Will all those previous backups be unusable ? Once changed do we need to start a full backup ?
Thanks,
Dhanushka

For existing backups AFAIK no, if you change the phrase in the backup job all backups should be done with the new phrase.

so does this means we wont be able to use any of the previous backups , the ones created before the passphrase change ?
You will still need to use the old/original passphrase for those existing backups should you need to restore. The change in passphrase will only affect backups created after the change ...
