Error EC8F17B7 on fresh installation

Hi,

I have a problem with a new server on a fresh installation of BESR version 7.0.1.21808.

Backups are not working.

I have this message in windows application Event log :

Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Backup lecteur C - Server. Error E7C3000F: Device \\.\SymantecSnapshot0 cannot read 8200 sectors starting at LBA 508672. Error EBAB03F1: Data error (cyclic redundancy check).

I tried to correct my problem by reinstallating BESR client ... nothing change, copy every drivers (symsnap.sys, V2imount.sys, VproEventMonitor.sys, Wimfltr.sys) to Windows\System32\Drivers ... nothing change ... Move Volume Shadow Copy service to start automatically and start it ... nothing change.

Does anyone have an idea ?

Most likely you have some bad sectors on the disk.

Modify existing job, under Options use Advanced, you will find "ignore bad sectors" option there
