Help! - server freezes completely after every backup start - unable to backup server currently

Fieldy

Hello,

I have a major problem with me Small Business Server BESR 8.5 install at the moment. Everytime i start a back up job on the server (full or incremental, One-off or scheduled) the server freezes and nothing can bring it out of it other thank a hard reboot!

I perform the back up to a Western Digital Mybookworld NAS drive (mapped via IP address to the server), but do not think it is the drive as i can copy and write to the drive with no problems? I have also checkdisk and defragged all drives. I have recently changed schedules, so not sure if thisis making this happen or not???

I have scoured these forums regarding this error, and see some potential fixes (remove .PQJ & .PQH files, defrag drives) but this has not been able to help. I have added the last 10 days of log output below.

Please can someone help as i currently have an unbacked up production server....

Thanks so much in advance for any advice,

Solved after tech support call to Symantec (thanks guys!) This should be solved (and other issues) with the impending 8.5.1 release later this week.

I perfomed the uninstall / reinstall (using selective start-up etc) and it seems to have worked-no more issues!!!

Good luck to all :)

Has anyone else with a similar issue tried 8.5.1?   If you have please share your results.
