Is it possible to create backup image with SSR 2011 of compact-flash disc?

Hello.

Is it possible to make backup image of compact-flash drive? I was trying to do that but SSR 2011 cannot do that (or i can't).

 

When i connect for example external hhd via usb it is possible to create such image, but when i connect compact-flash disck via card reader i cannot create backup.

 

Any ideas?

Hi there,

If a device presents to Windows as a 'removable device', you will not be able to create full backups. This is working as designed. It is recommend to use the 'file and folder' backup option to backup data on removable media.

In some cases, USB or other removable devices are seen by Windows as fixed disks either due to the operating system or 3rd party software installed by the mftr of the drive. It sounds like the external HDD you connected is being seen as a fixed disk, and thus, you are able to create an image of it. BESR / SSR has no control over the way Windows reads these devices.
