No USB Support in SSR 2K13?

Giving the trial a try and it doesn't show any of my USB drives (thumb drive, external HDD's) at all in the list of things I can backup. Also doesn't show them when I try to create a Custom Recovery Disk even though it says Create on "DVD or USB Device" as an option?

Definitly not, USB is actually supported. Have you enabled show hidden drives in the SSR console ?

Yep, I have tried Show Hidden Drives with no joy. Here's a screenshot of SSR 2K13 with that option checked, and Explorer open showing the 8GB thumb drive I have plugged into a USB 2.0 port. The Thumb Drive's letter is S:, which isn't showing in SSR.

That is correct - removable USB thumb drives cannot be added to a backup job.

One workaround is to use the Microsoft tool called SyncToy to synchronize the thumb drive(s) to a folder you create on your hard drive. Not a perfect solution, but with the contents of the USB drive on the hard drive, you have peace of mind knowing the data is getting backed up.
