Symantec BackupExec System Recovery

Hi

Objective: I want take a complete image of my laptop in the event that I need to restore it after a hard drive crash.

I am using 'Symantec BackupExec System Recovery 7.0' and am not sure which feature to use in order to achieve my objective. Should I use;

1. One Time Backup, or
2. Copy My Hard Drive, or
3. ?

The emphasis is on an image that I can use to restore my laptop if my hard drive crashes and I need to replace it. All drivers, settings, programs, data, etc must be restored.

Please help

Kind regards,
Omar A

Hello,

You would probable either want to use the "One Time Backup" option, or create a backup job.

The "One Time Backup" option simply creates a full image-based backup of the selected volume, that one time only.

A backup job will continue to create backups for the selected backup job based on a schedule you specify.

The "Copy My Hard Drive" option doesn't create an image-based backup.  Instead, it replicates one hard drive to another.  For example, if you purchased a larger hard drive and wanted to move everything over to the new larger drive, you would use this feature.

Thanks.
