Hello,
This maybe a weird question, but is there a simple validation procedure to determine if Symantec System Recoevry Desktop Edition is installed correctly?
What test can we perform or what can we check for, to ensure that the product was installed properly.
I'm not particularly familiar with the product but I need some information to assist my colleagues.
Any help would be grately appreciated.

I would first check the Installation log .
Are you facing any issue or getting error because of which you think the isntallation is not done properly ?
You may refer the following Video for installation.

YOu keep this document as reference in case if you want to run a repair Installation.

The product has been installed. We are not facing any particular error or issue.
We wanted to know if there are any validation test that we can perform or check list we can go through to ensure that all is well before proceeding further.
We are also rolling out Symantec Protection Center and Symantec System Recovery Desktop Edition and Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange.
We don't want to install the products and then they don't work as they are supposed too.
That's why I asked if there are any test or checks that I can perform after installation to validate the installation..
Thanks...

Well if you dont see any error or event , we can assume that the Product is working as expected. Incase if you incounterany issue , we can take it from therre.

If you browse to C:\ProgramData\Symantec\SYMANTEC SYSTEM RECOVERY\LOGS, open the SSRINST.HTM file. If installed correctly, the last few lines should read:
