Hi,

I'd recommend upgrading to BE 2010 R3 which is the latest version of BE 2010, and fixed a number of issues with previous versions. The link to the ISO is below:

Once done, run LiveUpdate to install SP3 and the latest patches. Then push-install these updates to your remote servers. Before doing the upgrade (in which you can use your current licenses), stop the BE services and grab copies of the Data and Catalogs folders so you have a backup of them.

Then try the same procedure again to configure jobs.

Thanks!

This is usually a credential problem.  Check that your BESA has the following rights.

Requirements for the Backup Exec Service Account (BESA).

Also make sure that all the BE services run under the BESA account, except for the BE remote agent service which should run under Local System.

Ensure a system logon account is configured under network - logon accounts and is the format domain\user. If such an account exists and has the above mentioned permissions, then edit the account and re-enter the password.

Consider using the SymHelp Tool which automatically checks the permissions of the BE account. Download link - http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH170752
