I have followed Symantecs remedy of uninstalling the Exchange agent, remove the license from the backup server and reinstall. This worked for about a month and now it is doing it again. This obviously is a temporary fix, anyone know of a permanant fix. I am in a high production environment and don't have the luxury of removing/reinstalling, rebooting  to get this working properly every month. ANy help would be appreciated

Hi Jae,

What sort of disk are you backing up too? Is it a USB drive? Internal disks? SAN disks presented from a storage array?
Do you have enough space available?
With regards to your agent, is it publishing to the correct server? Have you done a push install from the server to your Exchange server itself?
As a matter of interest, try creating another B2D and see if it backs up there, and try to tape if you're able too.

Before continuing with any troubleshooting, make sure your Backup Exec software is completely patched with all hotfixes and service packs and also the remote agent is pushed out to the target exchange server after update.

Please mark it a solution, if this is useful.

Craig,  I am backing up to a local NTFS volume (B2D) with ample space available. The Exchange agent was push installed to the Exchange 2007 server with no issues. Again the odd thing is that my B2D backups worked fine for months and months, and then all of a sudden I started getting this error.  I removed the Exchange Agent from the mail server and the media server, reinstalled them and then it started working again for a month or so with no issues. Come in one day and pow, same errors again.  I am not the type of IT Admin who patches servers and apps unless I see a reason. When things work good, I don't touch them. In this case like I said before, no issues for like 6 months, then all of a sudden these back up failures.
