Hallo,

 Also ich habe Backup 2010 jetzt im Test.

Leider muss ich feststellen, das Linux immer noch nicht richtig unterstützt wird.

Ich möchte einen SDR Datenträger erstellen und auch eine Linux Maschine virtualisieren.
Warum bekommt man das nicht hin? Gibt es bald mal eine Lösung?
Sonst muss ich mich für eine andere Lösung umschauen und Symantec Produckte nicht mehr einsetzen.
Es kann doch nicht sein, das ich es nur brauche.

...have you checked the SCL for BE 2012 to make sure the version of Linux you're trying to virtualise is supported?

Maybe you should also try indicating here if you're getting some sort of error message, and provide that. It also helps if you have support with Symantec, which enables you to log a query with them.

Es gibt keine Fehlermeldung. Ich kann schlicht diese Optionen nicht ausführen.
Ich hatte große Erwartungen von 2012.
Und RedHat 5,7 sollten schon voll unterstützt werden.
Ist aber schon mit den Vorgängerversionen nicht möglich gewesen.

Als ob Linux ein Nischenproduckt ist.

Also wann wird Linux genauso unterstützt wie Windows.

Ja, das eine Unterstützung nicht gegeben ist sehe ich doch selber.
Aber warum wird ein Produckt so angepriesen, wenn eine wichtige Unterstützung nicht gegeben ist.
 

Ich warte schon Jahre auf diese Unterstützung. Also wann bekommen wir die volle Linux unterstützung?

...I'm not a Symantec employee so I wouldn't know, nor could I answer you on that.

If your version of Linux is brand-new, it could explain why the OS isn't supported yet, but could be supported in a future patch.

If it is an old version, then Symantec might have moved this off the supported list of software, much like Windows 2000...especially if there is no commercial support from the software vendor anymore.

That said, head on over to the Ideas section and add it in as an idea...might get picked up, you never know.
