Backup Exec 12.5 authentication issue

Hi all

I have backup exec 12.5 running on windows server 2003 32 bit dedicated backup server in an environment with mixed 2003 32/64 bit and 2008 64 bit.

I have exchange 2007 on a 2008 64 bit machine which is also a domain controller. the other 2 DCs are 2003 32 bit. Domain and forest are running at 2003 level. We have a total of 8 servers being backed up.

I have created a user called backups and added it to domain admins, backup operator and exchange organisation. This account logs in successfully to the domain controller but when I test the credentials in backup exec, it fails. The credentials work on all other machines including the other domain controllers.

Where can I start?

 Go through the below article.

Thanks for that. I applied the backups user to the policy as stated, did gpupdate /force and tested again.

It still fails.

Is the BESA assigned the " Logon as batch job " right ? Also, this account should NOT be listed under "Deny logon as a batch job" because the Deny will take precedence over allow.
