Backup Exec 12 DMZ credential problems

Tony_K1

I have a BackupExec server version 12 running with agents on a DMZ. I am able to ping dmz servers from lan to dmz, I am also able to log in to the servers with the credentials I supply for the backup job on the dmz, but I am unable to verify logon credentials when I set up or submit the job. Both the server and backup agents are 12.x. Has anyone experienced this type of problem? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Are  you trying using domain credentials on the DMZ machine or a local admin account?

I make the assumption your DMZ machine is not joined to your domain so you should be using a local account for backup on it.

The credentials I am using are local credentials that work for other servers. Is there a specific format the credentials should be in? Example: \\xx.xx.xx.xx\username or \\servername\username ?

Your help is appreciated.

Local accounts logins are usually

 ".\accountname"

That's the format my local account is set up in and the test still fails. Thank you for your assistance thus far. Any additional input you may have is greatly appreciated.
