BackupExec12.5 can't restore a password protected backup

I have a password protected backup with a pass phrase that is about 40 characters long.
When I try to restore it I get prompted for a password. There are two fields for the password one primary and a 2nd one for validation.

when I enter the password in the first field, it will only take 33 characters - that's the problem
When I enter the password in the 2nd field, it excepts the entrire password.

I am unable to restore the data as obviously the two "passwords" don't match.

I have updated to SP3 and installed all automatic hotfixes, still it makes no difference.

Hope someone has a solution.

This sounds like a bug which should be taken up with Tech Support.

Hi there,

Try another password protected backup with the passphrase less than 33 characters, and let me know if that works during the restore.

Also let me know what kind of media are you using for this backup and what kind of data you are using.
