Bedsmbox.dll crashes remote agent with latest SP4a applied

Hi

We are still having major problems with Bedsmbox.dll crashing shortly after the backup starts. The client is running SBS 2003. I have noted a similar problem logged on these forums, but the solution was to either rename bedsmbox.dll (useless to us as we need exchange backup) or disable DEP which is already disabled on this server.

In the event log, a few hours after the backup starts, we get:

Faulting application beremote.exe, version 9.1.4691.49, faulting module BEDSMBox.dll, version 9.1.4691.47, fault address 0x0000a49f.

This client hasn't had a valid backup for about 2 weeks now! Please help!!

Hi,

Are you backing up exchange database?

Put the remote agent service on remote server in debug. Refer:
http://support.veritas.com/docs/254212

Paste the relevant output here.

Can you tell if you are hitting a particular mailbox when the service crashes? I would recommend breaking up the mailbox backup into smaller pieces to see if you can determine where the issue is. You can also run the remote agent in debug mode. It will show you what mailbox it is hitting at the time of the crash.
