Looking at the catalog folder, I can see that only the daily catalogs from the last 30 days, and the catalogs of the end of previous months. I would like to modify it, but cannot figure out where.
In the Backupexec settings, there is no checkmark next to "truncate catalogs after", so it must be somewhere else.

You are correct in that the catalog is deleted when the media is overwritten/deleted. There is no way prevent this. The catalog is useless when there is no media to restore from

Set the appropriate date range in the restore wizard selection ( from: )

I did set the start date, but the available restore dates have gaps.
My new theory is that if a media is overwritten, the catalogs for that media are automatically erased. Is it true? If yes, any way to disable it? it is useful sometimes to know when a file got deleted.
