Closed partition (to WORM Netapp) cannot backup

CGCI
Level 4

We use Backup Exec 12 with the EV agent.  And have the backup completed.  However we receive the critical status daily that we have 33,752,648 savesets that have not been backed up or replicated.  When looking at the backup of the vault store, I see that the "Last items secured:" = "No backup detected".  Furthermore "Last scan started:" = "Never Started".  So even though all the save sets are written to our Netapp and tagged read only by EV and then replicated to disaster site Netapp we appear to be a critical risk.  I'm not fearing that are data is at risk, but I would like EV confiured correctly and not have to stare at "critical" errors every day.  Since we've closed that partition, the new partition is acting the same way.  No backup detected and scan never started.  I know that WORM creates issues with backup of the data as far as archive bit being set.  Any help would be appreciated.

*Maybe* closed partitions aren't scanned.

Does your open partition exhibit the same 'oddity'?

Neither mention WORM ...  so you might need to place a call to Support and ask them what is supposed to happen.

So how are you backing EV up with Backup Exec? Is it putting EV into backup mode, backing up the files, reseting the archive bit, and then taking EV out of backup mode?

Yes to all except resetting the archive bit.  Since we are dealing with WORM media, I don't believe that it can reset the archive bit.

So your vault store partition is on a WORM device? Or you're backing up to a WORM device?

If you're writing to a WORM device do you have the partition correctly configured for WORM? Eg for NetApp if Snaplock is used, then you have to tick that box when creating the Vault Store partition.

We are writing to a WORM device.  Backup would be to tape.

I believe we configured properly.  Device type is "NetApp Device [SnapLock]"  I'll attempt to add a screen grab.

Thanks for all your help.  Yes the current open partition is behaving the same way.  Off to support I go!
