Communication Errors backing up remote servers

Chris_Lamotte

We are frequently getting the following error when backing up one of our remote servers. It doesn't happen on all of them. The errors are

Final error: 0xa000fe30 - A communications failure has occurred.

Final error category: Server Errors

OR

Final error: 0xa00084f8 - The network connection to the Backup Exec Remote Agent has been lost. Please check for network errors.

Final error category: Resource Errors

We have checked the settings on the NIC and that seems to be set. Neither server is an Exchange Server. We are running Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4.

I have stopped and started services. I have created new backup jobs. Nothing seems to be working.

Thanks

Hello,

The Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Servers service terminated unexpectedly. This error will occur at each job while it does the Shadow Copy Component backup

This error occurs when backing up the BKUPEXEC from the "Microsoft SQL server "BKUPEXEC"" as well as the Shadow copy Components

To resolve the error you need to select either of the two places to backup the SQL database. It is suggested you to backup SQL instance from the "Microsoft SQL server "BKUPEXEC". " and uncheck the selection for "Shadow copy components> User data> SQL server> Server name> BKUPEXEC".
