I am backing up multiple servers using Backup Exec 2010 R3.  I have one remote server that won't respond to anything I do...I have tried running the resource credentials and can't get a response from the remote server, any thoughts???

Are you able to ping the remote server? What OS is running on the server in question.

I am able to ping ther remote server from the backup server.  All my servers are running Server 2008 R2 with latest updates.

Are you able to add this particular server through an user -defined share ?

Hi,

Check and make sure that the RAWS agent on that server is actually running and publishing to the media server, either via name or IP.

If it is, check the server in question and see if the firewall is enabled. If it is, you need to put in an exclusion if the firewall needs to stand on. Otherwise turn it off, restart the RAWS service and try again.

Finally...uninstall the agent and push-install from the media server...

Telnet to remote server from backup exec media server (default port is 10 000).
