Problem when connect Backup Exec 12.0 Rev.1364 on Server 32-bit to Agent on Win server 2008 R2 64bit

Hi all ,

I met the problem when connect from Backup Exec verson 12.0 Rev.1364 which installed on server win 2003 32bit .When I try connect to Win Server 2008 R2 64bit to select resource for backing up, there is a message  "An error was encountered while attempting to browse the contents of xxx server.A network connection to the server could not be established" " although I installed Agent 64bit on Win server 2008 64bit.From server 32bit I can ping , and access to folder that has been shared .Anybody help me on this issue ?

BE 12.0 doesn't support win2008 r2 Please upgrade to BE 12.5 and above to backup win2008 r2

To download BE 2010 you can use the link below

You can directly upgrade from 12.0 to BE 2010 it would be inplace upgrade you would have to consult licensing for upgrade licenses as 12.0 licenes will not work with BE 2010

Just adding to the above...

Backup Exec 12.5 supports backup of Windows 2008 R2, however the software itself cannot be installed on a Windows 2008 R2 server...Whereas Backup Exec 2010 & above can be installed on a Windows 2008 R2 server & can also backup Windows 2008 R2 servers.
