What are you trying to restore, a complete mailbox, mailstore or individual items ?

This is a restore of single individual items. Have tried earlier with full mailbox of a user, same issue.
I do not want to make a full mail store recovery :(

Make sure the Exchange 2007 Management Tools are installed on your Backup Exec media server, aswell as MAPI/CDO.

Check if you are using the same logon account as the one used in the backups for exchange. Make sure that this account is not hidden from the Exchange Global Address List.
Also see if the below helps you -

The account that "pulls" the backups are "System Logon Account".
And the restores are done by "System Logon Account".
Both tested OK
Tried both restoring to the active mailbox and a recovery ... it won't work either way :(

Were can I find the Management Tools? I got the Exchange Management Shell as well as Exchange Management Console.

If yor Backup Exec Media Server is 64 bit install it from the Exchange Installation Media. Otherwise, you will find the 32 bit console link here

If you have the Exchange Management Shell and Console, this is fine.
Make sure to check the section Additional requirements to utilize the functionality of GRT (Granular Restore Technology) to backup or restore Exchange 2007 in this technote:
