Unable to backup Sharepoint server farm using backup exec 12.5

Hello

I'm having problems trying to backup our Sharepoint server.  This used to backup with no problems but the server has since been rebuilt and now i'm unable to add the sharepoint farm to the backup selection list.  We are using backup exec 12.5.  The error message i recieve is below when i try to expand the sharepoint farm,

An error was encountered while attempting to browse the contents of server farm 1 (Moss-wfe)
Although the specified server is a sharepoint resource, backup exec cannot confirm the topology. Review your sharepoint credentials, and ensure that the services are running on the web servers.

I have ran debug logs on both sharepoint servers Moss-wfe (back end server) and Moss-db (database server) and i've ran them on the media server.

Hi, Same problem after sharepoint server rebuild.

Hello

I resolved my issue by using the SQL System Admin login credentials to expand the farm within Backup Exec .

If your unsure how to do this let me know and i'll post instructions.

Hi

Sorry for the late reply i have listed the instructions below, hope this helps

I have version 12 so it might be slightly different in other versions

click onto Job setup
Right click onto the backup job selections list and click properties
on the left hand side click resource credentials
hight light each selection list for your sharepoint farm and click change on the left hand side
If you already have your sql admin username entered in the list you can just select this and press ok, if not click new and enter all your login credentials your sql admin username and password and then press ok
Then ok the selections list and your backup will now use your sql admin username and password to backup sharepoint.
