Verify Job fails for Virtual Machine V-79-57344-33991

Hello and thanks to everyone,

All the Verify Jobs for Virtual Machine(Hyper-V based) fail with error V-79-57344-33991.

No problems for Verify Job of Physical machine.No problems with Backup Job or Restore Job.

All the backup data go to a deduplicated Iomega disk.

We have Backup Exec 2012 Version 14 Revision 1798

How could i try to solve the problem?

When you use an unsupported and untested device, anything can happen. Your problem may be due to this device or it may not. You will not know until you have tested your backup to a supported device

Verify- \\XXXX.AAAA.IT\System?State \\XXXX.AAAA.IT\System?StateAn unknown error occurred on device "Iomega - Deduplicated:1".
V-79-57344-33991 - A backup storage read/write error has occurred.

If the storage is tape based, this is usually caused by dirty read/write heads in the tape drive.  Clean the tape drive, and then try the job again.  If the problem persists, try a different tape.  You may also need to check for problems with cables, termination, or other hardware issues.

If the storage is disk based, check that the storage subsystem is functioning properly.  Review any system logs or vendor specific logs associated with the storage to help determine the source of the problem.  You may also want to check any vendor specific documentation for troubleshooting recommendations.

Are you backing up to a BE dedup folder or a device with dedup capability? If it is the latter, then what is the make and model of the device? Have you checked the HCL to verify that it is supported?

Yes it's a device with dedup capability it's an IOMEGA IX4 200D. We use this device with Backup Exec for almost 2 years without any kind of problems.Now it's since 15 days that comes this issue with verify job.

Your device is not on the HCL so it is not tested and is not supported. It does not matter that it was working previously. Run this job and target to a supported disk drive and see what happens

Ok,but why now Bakcup exec gives problems and only with virtual Machine?Physical Machine verify job no problems.

Could be any recent updates?
