Hi There,
We've got a client that has upgraded to EV 8.0 SP5, and wishes to upgrade to EV9. This is not a problem, but...
They were running DA 8.0 SP2, which of course is no longer running.
Given that upgrades from DA 8sp2 to DA 9, and DA 8sp5 to DA 9 are not supported, and the only supported DA upgrade path to v9 is from V8sp4, would it be possible to...
Upgrade DA 8sp2 to DA 8sp4, which of course will still not work, and then upgrade to DA v9? which would then work.
I'm not familiar with DA so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Andres

Do you currently have the old version of the API installed? If yes, then yes, install the EV 8 sp5 API on the EV Server.
Then yes, install DA 8 sp4 BUT DO NOT run the configuration utility. If you don't the DA databases will not be upgraded and you will not be able to successfully go to DA 9.
Then if you wish, install DA 9 and run the configuration to update the DA databases.
As always, make sure you have good backups before you begin.
Also, if you have ANY doubt you should contact a SYMC partner to assist you.

Not sure why DA isn't working unless you didn't upgrade the EV version on the DA server. According to the compatibility guide DA 8 sp 2 works with EV 8 sp5.
But yes, I would upgrade DA to sp4 and then upgrade it to DA 9.

I I was thinking on the lines of
Alternatively, we could wait for EV upgrade to EV9 to be complete and then
That way we won't have to then upgrade DA again. this means however that DA will be out of action for a few days until EV9 is in place.
What do you think?
