EV FSA Target. Will it survive the underlying volume being SAN Copied/Cloned to a different Volume, keeping the same share.

I have EV9 FSA archiving data from a share which is a top level folder on a physical WIndows Volume.

As part of a disk re-organisation the client needs to make a clone / san copy of this volume to a new volume, during which process, at least temporarily the drive letter could change. The Share will be moved to the new Volume.

Wil EV handle this gracefully.

My suspicion is that it will, since it is targeting the Share, not the underlying volume. But I would like to be sure.

Has anyone had experience of this?

Thanks

Are you referring to the Enterprise Vault Partition? It's configured to be a network share, eg \\someserver\someshare?

If so.. I would suggest:

- Put in EV Backup Mode

- Fullllllll backup

- Do your SAN thing

- Make sure EV server can still see/read/write to the share

- Take EV out of backup mode
