EV80SP2 - strange issue in Archive Explorer

Hello all,

I have a user who, when clicking on the AE-icon in Outlook, only gets 47 archived mails to show. No folder structure is showing at all.
I have checked, when exporting the archive, it exports 10890 items.
I have checked, Search Safe, I can find and retrieve items from the date when his mails first got archived.
I have rebuild the index (both update (first), than rebuild (second)) to no avail.

I think I have two options:
Export Archive to mailbox.
Disable user for archiving
Delete Archive
enable user for archiving
Create new archive
Import pst into archive

Option2
Have user delete the EV-shortcuts
Export archive to mailbox, and have it re-archive.

Does anyone what else might resolve this?

Thanks.

Gertjan

The issue I am facing is described in document 317799

http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/317799.htm

Unfortunately, in 80SP2, this means exporting archive, removing archive, importing pst (including steps of disabling mailbox etc)

Hi GertjanA,

In addition to the tech article mentioned by Chai and Tony you can run the following SQL query against the EnterpriseVaultDirectory

USE EnterpriseVaultDirectory
SELECT * from ArchiveFolderView
WHERE ArchiveVEID = '131388868EEAC394F838B4F73C68DF55E1110000vault'
AND PARENTFOLDERROOTIDENTITY IS NULL
order by FolderName

Replace the ArchiveVEID with the effected user's archive id. I reckon you will get a list of folders with ParentFolderRootIdentity = NULL including the Top of Information Store

Going to try that.

The document assums the folders have an identity.
I have multiple folders having NULL (about 6 out of (!)). How do I determine the value for the incorrect subfolders. (column ParentFolderVEID also is NULL for those folders)
Top of Information store = NULL

Thanks.
