Enabling Offline Vault per Machine

I read in the Admin guide there was a way to enable offline vault via registry key.  However, I am having a heck of a time finding this magic key.  Does anyone know what it is?

Manually enable Offline Vault on the client by setting the following registry value:

1.  Go to Start | Run and type "Regedit" to open the Windows Registry.

2.  Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\KVS\Enterprise Vault\Client.

3.  Right-click on Client and choose New | DWORD Value.

4.  Type the name OVEnabled and set it to a value of 1.

5.  Restart Outlook for the change to take affect.

Ahh OK.  So it has to be enabled under the current user.  I was under the impression it could be enabled per machine.  Thanks for the info!

Hi,

Which version of EV do you use?
If using version 7 or higher you can enable Offline Vault using provisioning groups in combination with an LDAP query, OU or AD security group.

We are using 7.5 currently.  I had been asked if there was a way to enable offline vault not per user, but per machine.  Basically they only want to enable offline vault on laptops and not desktops.  I had seen bits and pieces about the registry key, which is why I assumed that was a per machine basis instead of a per user basis.

However, I would like to hear more about using provisioning groups.  Perhaps that will help us achieve what we want.
