Messages still in mailboxes (archive and journal) after policy runs

Hi,

We're noticing messages remaining in the journal mailbox even after they are stored by EV.  We have also observed archived messages that should have been removed from individual mailboxes based on policy settings remaining in those mailboxes as well after being archived.  We're running Exchange 2007 with EV 8.01 and have already done all the straightforward checks (account perms in Exchange at org and mailbox level, verify pols, etc.).  Are there any gotchas that we might have simply overlooked?

you can also make sure that "Remove Safety Copies" is set to "After backup (immediate for journaling)" and that will allow your journal mailbox to empty instead of accumalating throughout the day.

So,what status do they have? (Clock symbol, Archive Symbol, normal unread Envelope?)

If it's the clock symbol, make sure your Enterprise Vault Server is backed up correctly, as this indicates that it's waiting for Backup to be conducted.

that sounds like the forms have not been deployed.

In the Desktop Policy set the option to  Always for Deploy Forms locally

Could you have a look at your Message Queue, are there any messages stuck? What does the Eventlog of the Server say?
