Hi,
I have the following problem:
Public folder archiving is working, items are archived and I can browse the archive and open archived items. However archived items are not deleted from the public folder or replaced bij place holders.
EV 8.0.1.1560
Exchange 2007
Outlook 2007
Any pointers?
Thank you,
Fred

Ok, you say these are calendar items? Calendar items do not get shortcuts created but you can configure it to replace attachments with links.
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH60085
- Calendar items may grow in size due to the Enterprise Vault meta data that is added once the item is archived.

So is it the original item still or is it a pending archived item? What are the message class for those items?
You might need to check the Archive Rules for the PF policy, make sure it is set to create shortcuts and delete original. If that is set correctly then make sure you PF Vault Store Partition is being backed up correctly and the archive bit is being removed.
Do you do mailbox archiving as well? Is that working correctly?

Have you set your PF Policy to Delete original item & create shortcut?

Both options are checked.

As far as I can see the original item is still there. I am not sure what you mean by 'message class', but this particular folder is a public calendar folder. However the same happens to message folders.
As said: "both the 'delete original' and 'create shortcuts' options are checked.
Backups are made with Data Protection Manager and working without errors. EV does not check the archive bit, but looks foor a file ('ignorearchivebittrigger.txt') in the 'Vault Store MBX Ptn1' folder.
Mailbox archiving is working correctly. Items are archived, archived items deleted and replaced by shortcuts, shortcuts deleted after 7 months.
