We stopped using a Journaling task for one of our Exchange Servers quite some time ago.
We are in the process of decommisioning that Exchange Server, and we are trying to identify the steps to remove the Journal Tasks/Account from the server.
I've seen articles and posts on moving or setting up the Journaling Task, but nothing about removing it.
Anyone have any experience with this?

Should be pretty easy.
1. Open the Vault Admin Console.
2. Expand Archiving Targets, Exchange, Domain, Exchange Server, (Affected Exchange Server) and Journal Mailbox.
3. Delete the Targeted Journal Mailbox.
4. Expand Enterprise Vault Servers, Server Name and Tasks.
5. Delete the affected Journal task.

6. Expand Archives, Exchange Journal, right click on the archive in the right-hand pane and delete.

But only do that if you no longer need to search the archive, otherwise let Storage Expiry take care of deleting the items based on their retention period.
