Symantec Enterprise Vault 7.5 SP3

Hi

I am very new to this product. It works wells but recently when I enable new mailboxes for Enterprise Vault I get the following in the Event Viewer. I have restarted the EV storage service.

Any ideas.

Mailboxes cannot be enabled while the Storage Service state is 'Stopped' or 'Upgrading' or when it is in read-only mode.

Hello Danny,

Check in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KVS\Enterprise Vault\Storage

There are some keys starting with enablexxxxxx which need to be value 1.
vaule 0 indicates read-only, which is used for backup-purposes (when 0 is read-only)

You should have a Registry_Vaules pdf in the install folder of EV explaining this. See secton Storage service I believe.

I agree with GertjanA

Also I highly recommed upgrading to SP6 because there are some issues in SP versions prior to SP5 that will affect any search results.
SP6 is the latest SP for 7.5 and you need to have a higher SP if you plan on moving forward to EV 8 SP2
